Hayden Canyon Charter (HCC) will begin classes in September of 2020. The Charter School Board is excited to bring the expeditionary learning model, developed by EL Education, to the youth of North Idaho.
Hayden Canyon Charter is prepared to meet the needs of a diverse student population. HCC is “designed to prepare youth – through hands-on learning, in critical thinking and character development – to blaze new trails and solve real world problems.” The curriculum, instruction, and assessment is designed around project-based themes and hands-on applied learning that encompasses all subject areas throughout the day. Students will explore this applied learning approach, aligned with the highest academic standards, through outdoor field experiences, artistic discovery, scientific investigation, maker-space and innovative process improvement. Applied learning experiences will incorporate design processes and peer collaboration.
