Hayden Canyon Charter’s initial enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is 450 students. The board reserves the right to admit additional students should waitlist numbers support opening additional seats in a grade.

All prospective students will be given the opportunity to enroll in Hayden Canyon Charter, regardless of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, gender, socioeconomic status, or special needs.

Lottery Deadline Approaching

The Hayden Canyon Charter application applications deadline for Fall 2020 priority lottery are due by 5:00pm (PDT), next Friday, February 14, 2020. Any applications received after this deadline will not be entered into the priority lottery which will be held on February 18, 2020, but will be placed in order of their receipt after those who applied through the lottery. Notice of acceptance for the 2020-2021 school year will begin by February 25, 2020.

Applications without proof of residency will not be considered complete, and will be placed at a lower priority level for the lottery. Please be sure to send your Proof of Residency to registrations@haydencanyoncharter.org by the February 14, 5:00pm deadline. Acceptable documents for Proof of Residency submission include a utility bill or mortgage statement.

Hayden Canyon Charter Now Official Landowner

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Hayden Canyon Charter School, Joshua Dahlstrom recently signed for the three and a half acres of land making it legally/officially ours! We are so proud of this board and all we have accomplished together! We look forward to the construction of our permanent building.

Board President Speaks at TEDx CDA

Our board president, Joshua Dahlstrom, recently had the opportunity to speak at TEDx Coeur d’Alene. He shared his Guide to Epic Adventures, which is the process he utilizes to turn a standard idea into an amazing adventure based on personal desire, vision, and motivation. We are grateful for the support he has provided to this school, and his willingness to use his guide to help Hayden Canyon Charter bloom from an amazing school concept to opening our doors this coming Fall.

Attendance Boundaries & Permanent Building Plans

In December 2019, the Idaho Public Charter School Commission (PCSC) voted to approve Hayden Canyon Charter’s request to move their authorization from Lakenland School District to the PCSC. Included in the approved petition was a map of the new attendance boundaries. The primary attendance zone will commence at the intersection of Boekel Road and Atlas Road, continuing south to the intersection of Atlas Road and Honeysuckle Avenue and following the shoreline of Hayden Lake to a point south of the intersection of East English Point Road and North Meadowwood Lane. From there, the attendance zone continues north to a point at the center of East Dodd Road, then east along the center of Boekel Road to the point of origin.

In addition to this approval, we are pleased to be planning on moving forward with the construction of a permanent building sooner than planned. We expect to break ground for our permanent building sometime in early February. If the construction process goes as planned, the school will open in portable buildings in 2020 rather than portables.
